The Eleaf iJust 2 Kit is a mechanical box mod with the output voltage directly tied to battery life. This a very basic, no fuss vaporizer aimed to provide beginners with a starter kit that works without overwhelming you with too many options. Therefore, the iJust 2 sub-ohm tank is equally simple in design but promises high quality performance on par with the best sub-ohm tanks out there – we picked up Eleaf’s iJust 2 starter kit for $34.99 to see whether it holds true to its claims.

Eleaf iJust 2 Kit in detail

The iJust 2 mod is made of quality stainless steel and features an interesting tube shaped chassis of 22mm in diameter so all your 22mm tanks will sit nice and flush on top of it. We sometimes felt like the mod could easily slip out of our hands due to its shape and the smooth metal surface, though.
The 2600mAh integrated battery is perfectly suited to power this little mod throughout the day, however, the charging port is placed a bit awkwardly high up on the tube which feels impractical.
The iJust 2 sub-ohm tank holds an incredible 5.5ml of e-liquid which is really handy. Considering how much juice these advanced sub-ohm tanks go through the big capacity is very convenient. Refilling, however, is a bit of a mucking around because the hole is quite small so be prepared to spill a couple drops of your precious juice here and there. The tank comes with an EC dual coil pre-installed, suited for wattage output between 30W to 80W and firing at a minimum resistance of 0.3 Ohm. A 0.5 Ohm EC coil is sold separately by Eleaf and several coils by other brands are also compatible, such as Melo, Atlantis, Atlantis 2, Silo Beast and Aspire Triton coils.

How’s the vapor & flavor?

The flavour we got using this kit straight out of the box was very good. As long as the battery is fairly healthy you can get a really nice vape off of this kit. Then we decided to use the iJust 2 sub-ohm tank with one of our more advanced, more powerful mods and that’s when we found the real winner of this kit. The iJust 2 sub-ohm tank is right up there in performance with our favorite tanks such as the TFV4 Mini or Crown. Vapor production even at low wattage range is outstanding and it tastes absolutely delicious. No wonder this starter kit performs so well despite lacking any advanced setting options – this monster of a tank does all the work!

Our Verdict for the Eleaf iJust 2

Eleaf iJust 2 Tank and BatteryWe are really torn about the Eleaf iJust 2 kit. On the one hand, this is a well crafted mod for beginners that offers fantastic value for your money and really delivers a delicious vape. On the other hand, there’s a couple of things that really annoyed us about this box mod especially because they would have been so easy for Eleaf to change and we just can’t imagine what the heck they were thinking. Like, why not just put the battery charging port on the bottom of the mod so it’s out of the way? Why not poke a little bigger hole into that tank to make it easier to refill? And then you create a sub-ohm tank that can challenge the best sub-ohm tanks on the market in terms of performance but forget to include proper air flow control? Despite some very unfortunate design choices by Eleaf this starter kit is nonetheless a great pick up at a bargain price of $34.99. This amazing little tank would probably be worth that price tag on its own.

Pros:

  • Includes one of the best sub-ohm tanks
  • Quality stainless steel construction
  • Easy to use
  • Great value for money

Cons:

  • Tricky to refill
  • Impractical charging port placement
  • No proper air flow control system
